SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY. PART 3. HOW DO WE EVALUATE PEOPLE?

As I’m approaching my next step, I keep making use of an outstanding course of Social Psychology by Olga Gulevich.
The Module of this week reveals The mechanism of evaluating people.
It covers such issues, as:
- the prediction of people's behaviuor based on the information about them;
- the social beliefs, based on our perception of the society, faith in the World;
- the types, structure and functions of attitudes as the basis of positive or negative evaluation of a person;
- the influence of attitudes on people's behaviour, which depends on various factors: the situation, people's intentions, acceptance of our actions or thoughts by other people and the self-control;
- the impact of attitudes on our conduct;
- the problem of cognitive dissonance, its strategies of reduction;
- the self-perception and "the effect of superior motivation" under the influence of which people lose their inner motivation without being offered a certain material reward.

Having learned the Video- and Audio-material of the Module, I passed the test. I should say the tasks weren't very difficult, because the questions were brightly clarified by the Lecturer, but, on the other hand, some tasks were a bit challenging, which I found quite exciting, as I had to analyse the situations which are likely to happen in our days. So here is the result:
The Module 3 was really Impressive for me. I'd never have thought I could, in such a short amount of time, get answers to many questions that puzzled me throughout a period of 2-3 years!
I learnt about different views on the common values of people. I got such a great deal of useful information on perceiving other people.
I realise that now I can a bit better understand people and my own self's behaviour. Applying the Theory of the mechanism of evaluating people, I come to understand what can make one behave in a certain way in a particular situation or under the particular circumstances.
I believe that each of us, being a member of society, is bound (!) to get acknowledged with the issue of understanding other people as social creatures, which is a must for further effective communication and positive interactions between them!
