ARE YOU READY FOR SOME CHALLENGE?

We all need challenges from time to time. Their main function –to get us out of the Comfort Box.

My groupmates and I are going to go through some challenges which will help us overcome the fear of public speaking and leave the comfort zone.

I have created a list of challenges for my own self.

Some of them look really silly… c:
But, as our Prof. says, this way is even better. Sometimes we need to do something silly so to get accepted by society, and to realize that it actually not a catastrophe and it won’t lead to something awful.

So here is the list of  my “why-not” tasks:

1. Give a compliment to a random person in Facebook.

2. Ask a stranger to listen to you reading a poem in English.

3. Call a stranger and apologize for not being in contact for such a long time.

4. Call a food delivery service, pretending to be a native English speaker, order some meals, using the Google translator with its inaccuracy in translating the food items.  Ask them if they have charge of dollars.

5. Share a chocolate with a bus conductor and gratitude them for their work in such a tough period of time.

6. Ask a stranger about their favorite film.

7. Upload a photo of me as a child in Instagram and write a story behind it.

8. Ask a vet shop assistant how I can teach my cat to lock the door behind her when she goes to the bathroom.

9. Call a random number and say “You won a chance to talk to me! Now you can ask me any questions!”

10. Send a video of one of my talks (from the classes of Public Speaking) to a native speaker. Ask for their feedback.

I can guess It’s going to be stressful, probably... Because most of these tasks I wouldn’t ever do in my normal life.

But it is certain to be extremely useful for me on my way of becoming an effective Public Speaker.

P.S.:
I promise to accomplish one task each week.

Have you ever taken this kind of challenges? Share your ideas in the comments down below!:)
