OVERCOMING STAGE FRIGHT. USEFUL TIPS
Since or goal here is overcoming Stage Fright, it is
important to get acknowledged with some useful techniques.
There’s a great set of tips of overcoming stage fright
at our Professor’s book. I would like to share my favourites with you.
1.
Recognize
the stress as excitement.
If we associate the performing on stage with fear and
anxiety – it’s no surprise why we are frightened of the idea of giving speech
in public. The adrenaline produced in the process of performing in public is
the same as the adrenaline we get riding a roller coaster, meeting friends we
haven’t seen for a long time and etc. So why don’t we try to think of all the
amazing things we can give or benefits
we can achieve sharing the world our
knowledge? How can it positively influence us, people or the world around? Let’s
get excited of all the great opportunities that performing on stage gives us!
2.
Dress
up
There are people who consider appearance to be an
important element of everything they do. I am among them. When I’m wearing
something I am not comfortable in, I feel awkward, I don’t want people to look
at me, I’d rather hide behind the smart-board so that no one can notice me. This
is why I should think carefully of how to dress or make my hair for the next
speech of mine.
3.
Get
your rest
It is vital to feel fresh and full of energy while
getting ready to your performance. Have your speech written in advance, keep it
in mind and don’t spend your night, desperately reading it over and over again.
Get some good sleep.
I promise to apply these techniques for my every
speech.
I believe that everyone should follow these tips.
