CHALLENGE #6
“I meet people and they become
chapters in my stories.”
― Avijeet Das
Hello, everyone!
I’m here with a new challenge:
Ask a stranger about their favorite film.
I decided to conduct the
challenge the park, as it is the place where people normally are not in rush,
most of the time they walk and enjoy the fresh air.
So, when I got to the park, I observed
the area and noticed a young woman, sitting alone in the shades of trees. She
was reading a book.
I came closer and took a seat next to her. I also had a
book with me, which I was reading for a while – thus to wait for a right
moment.
The woman put her book aside and at that moment I uttered my question: “What is
your favorite film?” I bet she was surprised to get this kind of question
from a stranger, but didn’t show it and just shared a number of her favorite
films with me.
Then she asked me the same question. That’s how our conversation began.
In
fact, it lasted for half an hour. We spoke about genres, film directors, actors
and so on. We found out that our tastes are alike.
In the end of the conversation
the young woman told me, that every Saturday they arrange gatherings with
friends, where they watch one film a week and then discuss it all together with
a cup of tea.
So Svetlana, having noticed my vivid interest in the cinematography,
kindly invited me to join their meeting on Saturday evening.
I was elated. I loved the idea
of watching a film at a close circle.
This challenge made me realize
that the world is simpler, than it seems to be.
Meeting new people brings
colors to your life, new experience and life fulfillment.
Never neglect taking chance to
talk with a person and let the person become a chapter of your book.
