INFORMATIVE SPEECH #12. EVALUATION

Hello, everyone!

This week I'm going to evaluate the speech of my groupmate, Saiyyna.

Sai spoke about Presenting an informative speech. 

And here's my evaluation of her speech:

What technique(s) was used in the introduction?
Sai started her speech with a set of rhetorical questions: 
“Did you always understand the information you were provided? Were you really interested?”

I think the questions were quite appropriate. They served as attention-getters. Moreover, Sai referred to the audience, highlighting that this topic is relevant to us. It definitely contributed to provoking the audience's interest in the further speech.

"However, it is hardly possible to say that everybody knows how to present informative speeches efficiently and clearly.
And this leads to my thesis statement."
Was the thesis statement given?
Yes, it was given: "Your goal is to give such informative speeches that all listeners would understand and become curious and interested about."
How effective was the introduction?
It was very effective.

How well structured was the information presented?
The information was well-structured. The speech was divided into 6 parts, according to the six c’s of informative speaking.
What organizational structure was used in the body of the speech?
The outlining was used.
How understandable was the information (was it clearly explained)?
The information was clearly explained. Everything was understandable.
Quality of point-support (appropriateness, completeness, variety)
The quality of point-support was appropriate, complete and various. 
Use of facts, illustrations, examples, stories.
Facts and illustrations supported speech.
Was it coherent?
It was coherent.

What technique(s) was used in the conclusion?
The speaker used a quotation: "Practice like you've never won. Perform like you've never lost.”, thus referring to the audience with a piece of advice. 
Were all the steps followed (summary, action, emotional appeal?)
All steps were followed: summary, action and emotional appeal. 
How effective was the conclusion?
It was effective.

To conclude, I truly liked Saiyyna's speech. It was informative and covered all important aspects. I also liked the speaker's presentation. All in all, Saiyyna's speech was really effective. It is definitely a success.
